What is meLoop?

meLoop is technology tool that allows a user to search, select, and combine video clips from YouTube, Google Video, and MySpace into a longer playlist.

Video playlists, or meLoops, can be edited, rearranged, saved, emailed, and embedded into other websites with full functionality.

 How do I start?

Type in a search term in the search bar at the top right, and click on the magnifying glass. For example, type in "movie trailer" and the results will show 15 videos per page of relevant content.

Then drag each clip you are interested in to the work area to the left, under "myLoop". Videos can be rearranged by dragging then within that area, as well as played individually and deleted.

Play back your entire list, or meLoop, using the controls under the player screen. These include the standard controls of Play, Skip Back, Skip Ahead, Start from Beginning, Full Screen and Volume

How do I save a list?

The first step in saving a list is registering.  Go to 'login' at the top and click on 'create and account'. You will need a valid email address to register. 

After registration, simply click on 'save' and give your list a name. The next time you login, your list will be available under the "myLoops" tab.

Watching other people's meLoops.

When entering terms in the search box, you will get results of both individual videos, but also a few results from other people's meLoops. If you want to check out their lists before making your own, click on the green left arrow to replace what's in your work area with another user's meLoop. If you want to add the other user's meLoop to your list, then click on the blue merge arrow. 

Additional user meLoops related to your search term are found under the "Loopers" tab. 

Public and Private myLoops.

By default, others can find and watch your lists. This can be made private by checking the "private?" checkbox when saving your list.

Sharing a list

First, save your list. Then click on the share button. A window will pop up in which you can enter a valid email address and a personal message.

Embedding a list

Again, save your list first. Then click on "Embed". Then  click on the code space in the popup. Copy the code and then paste it directly in your blog or webpage. The player will embed with the list and the controls for the user.
